Holborn Dining Terrace, The Rosewood Hotel
Design development, production and delivery of the terrace and furniture
Design development and management through to delivery with Benchmark, for concepts by Luciano Giubbilei Design and Nathalie de Leval
Benchmark was commissioned to create bespoke garden furniture for Rosewood London’s new drinking and dining destination, The Terrace, which has been transformed into an intimate garden setting by award-winning landscape designer Luciano Giubbilei.
Classically pruned London Plane trees, within vast decorative metal planters, grow through an elegant metal pergola, also made by Benchmark, which has motorised blinds to provide shelter during poor weather and when the leaves of the trees have fallen. The furniture has been designed by Luciano Giubbilei together with acclaimed furniture designer Nathalie de Leval as part of their new venture, Giubbilei&deLeval.
Surrounded by seasonal flowering shrubs in bespoke woven willow planters, a continuous wooden slatted bench with supporting back and in-built heating is fitted with quilted blanket cushions to provide luxurious comfort. Made in natural untreated oak, the furniture will weather and grow more characterful with age. Round tables in green marble further add texture and a sense of permanence to the space. The space is beautifully lit using a series of bespoke light fittings and contol system by Foundry Lighting.
